When people search for yoga retreats, the same destinations always come up: Bali, Costa Rica, Tulum. While they’re beautiful, my heart has always pulled me elsewhere — to places where time slows down, where you feel both far from home and deeply at home.
These are the kinds of yoga retreat destinations I choose: raw coastlines, soulful small towns, vibrant cultures, and landscapes that invite you to let go of routine and reconnect with yourself.
In this post, I’ll share some of the most unforgettable places I’ve led retreats — Panama, Peru, Portugal, and now coming up: Morocco — to give you a sense of the kinds of experiences I create, and maybe inspire your own journey.

Panama Yoga Retreat: Raw & Untouched
Panama isn’t usually at the top of “best yoga retreat destinations” lists, but that’s exactly why I loved it. We traveled six hours outside Panama City to a tiny coastal town where it was just us, the wild ocean, and a few local shack-like spots to eat.
It was simple, raw, and stunning — the kind of place that reminds you how little you really need. Practicing yoga with the sound of crashing waves and no distractions allowed everyone to drop in more deeply than they ever had before.
Peru Yoga Retreat: The Sacred Valley & Salkantay Trek
Peru holds a special place in my heart. Our retreat began in the Sacred Valley, where we connected with locals, explored traditional markets, and felt the grounding energy of the Andes.
From there, we took on one of the most challenging treks to Machu Picchu — the Salkantay Trail. Unlike the busier Inca Trail, Salkantay is rugged, less traveled, and absolutely breathtaking. The journey was physically demanding, but also deeply spiritual, teaching us resilience, trust, and surrender with every step.
Portugal Yoga Retreat: Surf Town Simplicity
For our yoga retreat in Portugal, we chose a small surf town outside of Lisbon. Days began with yoga and meditation, followed by wandering through farmers’ markets, sipping coffee at local cafés, and walking to different beaches — each with its own personality.
This retreat was about slowing down, enjoying simple pleasures, and letting the ocean remind us daily how to play, flow, and connect. The live music in the evenings in the small town was the cherry on top of an unforgettable experience.
Morocco Yoga Retreat: Our Next Adventure
Now, we’re heading to Morocco — and I couldn’t be more excited.
Instead of the busy cities, we’ll be based in a small surf and fishing village on the coast of Africa. Think vibrant Moroccan colors, fresh coastal food, and days where time seems to stand still. It’s a little adventurous, which makes it the perfect setting for yoga, community, and transformation.
This yoga retreat is designed to help you step away from daily distractions and into a rhythm that feels both grounding and expansive. Of course we will visit some markets (the souks of Morocco are an experience we cannot miss!), but with that we will also let ourselves sloooow down and soak in the raw beauty.
Why I Choose These Kinds of Retreat Destinations
No matter where we go — Panama, Peru, Portugal, or Morocco — the essence of my retreats stays the same:
🌍 Off the beaten path locations where you can truly disconnect.
💫 Experiences that balance adventure with restoration.
🧘 Safe, supportive containers where you can practice yoga, explore, and grow.
💛 A community of like-minded travelers who arrive as strangers and leave as family.
I don’t just want to take you on a trip. I want to take you on a journey that leaves you lighter, freer, and more deeply connected to yourself and the world around you.
